Geriatric screening tests

In dogs and cats, aging usually begins around 6–7 years of age, but owners do not always notice the gradually developing signs, as they see their pets every day.

The expected lifespan varies between dog breeds, primarily depending on the dog’s size.

Generally, it is recommended to start geriatric screening at around 6–8 years of age, which corresponds roughly to a 50-year-old human.
